The National Laboratories are committed to advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in our nation’s schools. This commitment is more important than ever as fewer U.S. college graduates pursue degrees in STEM fields. In addition to scientific literacy, STEM teaches problem-solving and prepares students to compete in the 21st century workforce.

Our labs have developed resources for elementary, middle, and high school students that not only make STEM fun but introduce them to the possibilities of STEM careers. Through tours, field trips, classroom materials, and competitions, the National Laboratories inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to tackle some of our greatest scientific challenges.
